  1. To set the Listing Header for a Contact:

  3. 1. Open the Detail View for the Contact whose Listing Header you want to set. Notice that the Listing Header displays a name and telephone number. The name may be the Contact's first and last name, or the Company name The phone number may be any of the numbers in the available phone fields, including any Custom Fields.

  5. 2. From the Use Detail Layout submenu of the Window menu, choose a Detail Layout that allows you to see as much Contact information as possible for your screen size, or as little as you prefer.

  7. 3. Place the pointer over the title of the Name field. Notice that the arrow pointer changes to the Primary Field selector. This selector also appears when you place the pointer over the Company field. Of these two fields, the underlined one is the Primary Name, which appears in the Listing Header.

  9. 4. Click the field title that is not underlined. The field you click becomes underlined, and the Listing Header changes to display the newly selected Primary Name.

  11. Switch back to the previous Primary Name by clicking again over its field title.

  13. 5. Place the pointer over the title of the Work field in the telephone block. Notice that the pointer changes to the Primary Field Selector over this field as well. This selector also appears when the pointer is over the Home, Fax and Mobile telephone fields, as well as any Custom Fields you set to contain telephone numbers. Of the available telephone fields, the underlined one is the Primary Phone, which appears in the Listing Header.

  15. 6. Click the title of a phone field that is not underlined. The field you click becomes underlined, and the Listing Header changes to display the newly selected phone number.

  17. Switch back to the previous Primary Phone by clicking again over its field title.

  19. NOTE: When the default name or phone number field contains no data, Now Contact looks for a field that does contain data and selects it as Primary whenever possible.
